International students pay higher tuition fees than domestic students and also
fund their accommodation and living costs. Fortunately, there is support available and opportunities
for part-time work to top up funds.
Part-time work:
You can of course get good jobs if you have recommendations and reference from your friends who have already worked at that specific job or from a person of the same community.
Please understand that Ireland is a small country unlike the US. So, numbers of Part Time job are very scarce.
The minimum wage here is €8.65 per hour and students can work legally up to 20 hours a week and 40hours a week during vacations (the vacation periods would be mentioned by the respective colleges and Universities you are enrolled in).
OPT:
Optional Practical Training (OPT) is the work authorization letter where students can work anywhere in USA to get hands-on work experience related to the academic field of study. OPT is valid for one year and which is extendable to 24 months for the students who graduates in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) field.
